Our mission and team

Kyle Roe is a seasoned technologist whose career spans decades at some of the world's most influential companies, including Microsoft and Amazon, alongside numerous entrepreneurial ventures.

At Microsoft, Kyle contributed to the Surface product line and served on the IT team, shaping the company's infrastructure and operations surrounding the Nokia merger.

At Amazon, he played a key role in developing Alexa Automotive and brought deep QA and ML expertise spanning both cloud-scale services and edge intelligence.

Beyond his technical depth, Kyle is a certified ethical hacker with a nuanced perspective on security — one that recognizes the critical balance between self-hosting solutions for control and leveraging service providers for scalability and compliance.

Through his years in both enterprise and startup environments, Kyle has cultivated a problem-solving philosophy rooted in pragmatism: build the right thing, at the right time, with the right tradeoffs. His passion has always been solving hard problems — whether that means designing a new product, hardening a system, or finding the elegant middle ground between DIY and managed services.

Kyle has built a wealth of knowledge around current AI and LLM technologies. He is excited to share his knowledge of Local First AI approaches for businesses with sensitive processes

Since 2002, Heather has offered highly specialized knowledge of both Business Management and Equine Studies. She is a graduate of Centenary University, a school known for two highly sought-after programs that cover both of those fields 

Heather has decades of experience running her own retail stores and offering horse-related services like training, coaching, barn management, and rider-horse suitability evaluations. She holds a deep understanding of the unique business requirements for equine operations that generalist bookkeepers do not possess.

Heather takes bookkeeping very seriously. She has completed advanced professional bookkeeping courses as well as holding a certificate in QuickBooks. QuickBooks is the most popular software on the market, but it is not the only software supported by Heather. Other software products she supports include EC Pro Barn Management, Impulsion.io Horse first operating system Actual Budget, and more.
